IT IS ALL ABOUT THE DESK

Inspiration has been missing lately. No matter what I did, I just could not focus. But...thanks to my mother's wonderful suggestion, I changed the location of where I write.

I have moved Oscar, my trusty personal computer, to my writing desk in my room and now we are quietly tucked away at the back of the house, away from all the noise and endless interruptions.

I even got a new idea for a book, of which I have already completed the first chapter. So At least June is beginning well for me. Thanks to a new desk.

On Wednesday my temporary contract will be expiring at the cellar and I will once again be unemployed. Though, I have already started applying for other jobs.

Oh! And I started querying again today. Got a knot in my stomach but I know it needed to be done.

  1. It really helped when I moved my desk. I put it in my bedroom facing the wall but within sight of two windows. Before that, my desk was in the center of an extra bedroom and faced the door. Every time anyone walked past, I was distracted. Good luck for June!

  7. Tonja - Thank you! Good luck to you as well. I hope June is filled with only good things.

Carole - Thank you so much for the support.

Angela - Thank you. Yes it is, but my nerves are currently still holding.

Better is possible - My mom is a very smart woman and she has not been wrong about many things yet. So she is a great person to take advice from.

Heather - Thank you. I do try my best.

Liz - Thank you. I have a bad habit of renaming things. My family thinks I'm crazy for naming my computer, but I agree, it is a cool idea.

Caitlin - A writing room? I need one of those! That is so cool! Thank you for the nice words.

  8. Sometimes a change in location is good for inspiration! I had my sweetie build me an entire office... and yet, I still wind up writing at the kitchen table. Oops!

  9. There's a lot to be said for feng shui. I didn't start feeling inspired in my office until I had my desk facing the right way. :-)
