Relaxed weekend

This weekend my family and I visited a local food market. We wanted to see what it was about and to buy some really great fruit and veggies. But in the end we ended up at the cake stand and it was like a dessert lovers dream come true. Yes, we did buy some fruit and veggies, but we ended up buying cake too.

Bee-sting and hazelnut cake

Other than that I didn't do much. I even took a small break from the re-writes and watched some Big Bang Theory. Because I ate so much cake, I learned to drink green tea and it didn't taste as bad as I had thought. It could actually be a drink I could drink often. Now all I have to do is become friends with exercise.

So, what are you up to?

  2. I find it difficult to drink green tea, but I LOVE my rooibos tea.
And I have more of a savoury tooth, I'm not really a cake type of person...

  3. I would have bought cake too. Lots and lots of cake. Only I would have skipped the fruits and veggies altogether.

I really do need to eat healthier.

  4. The cake looks yummy, Murees! Thanks for sharing. Glad you bought fruits and veggies too. Good job. Looking forward to hearing more about your writing projects.

  5. Rebecca - Mine too! I have an incredible sweet tooth.

Michelle - I like rooibos too. I started drinking green tea to be a lot more healthy, especially to help detox after Christmas. I think you are so lucky to like savoury food more, because whenever I go on a health plan, sweet things are what I crave most.

M.J. - Cake rocks, man. I know what you mean with eating healthier. But it is so hard.

Deanie - Thank you. I knew we had to buy fruits and veggies too. It made us feel less guilty about buying the cake.

  8. Now see how you are. All of us on New Year's resolution diets and you tempt us with a picture like that. (drools slightly on keyboard)

  9. LD - Sorry! I am trying the diet thing too, but I fell off the wagon with the cake. Hence the reason I bought fruit and veg too. Wishing you a fantastic 2014!

  10. Hi Murees - it's good to switch off completely sometimes .. the cake does look rather delicious though .. and you won't be doing it too often .. more veggies and fruits next time?!

    Cheers Hilary

  11. Hilary - Switching off is rather good. I like it every now and then. In my defense, the cake was for 5 people, not just me.
