Hectic

I’m so happy today. I finally had some cracker bread and it tasted good. We haven’t bought potatoes yet, but it is only a matter of time. Yay! So, this week started off pretty hectic, as I have a ton of data to process for my brother, which will probably keep me busy until next week. The funny thing about doing data is the unpredictability of your workload. You can have one slow day and then the next day you have so much data to do that it keeps you busy for weeks.

Now that I’m back to working on such a large workload, the creativity kicks in. I’m thinking up new story ideas when I’m supposed to be concentrating on numbers. But I’m not mad at my creative side. Instead I’m welcoming her back with open arms. After all, I had missed her. She was playing hard to get, the tease.

Speaking of creative, I've started with my first round of rewrites for book two. It is slow, but I want to make sure that I’m taking the story in the right direction. So far, so good. I am definitely getting the feel for the book and its different than book one, but I think it’s good. I haven’t started tackling the large problems yet, but I will be getting to it this week.

So, what are you up to? Do tell…

  2. Go and buy potatoes now :-)

Glad you've got the spark back. Perhaps you need numbers to help unlock the words. I find playing Sudoku helps me.

    1. We're going to town tomorrow, then I'll get me some potatoes. Can't wait! Right now with all the data, I don't want to see anymore numbers. But the writing is coming along, just slower than I would like.

  3. I love it! When we're productive, our brains kick it into high gear. So much better than last week. Way to kick the slows and find your spark!

What am I up to? Prepping for baby. I've got a dresser stock with little girl clothes. Not much longer now...

    1. Thank you! Yes, My brain surprises even me sometimes. Oh, goodie. I bet that little girl is going to love her new clothes and big sister. All the best with the birth and the waiting. I hope the birth goes well and that there won't be too much pain.

You know what they say - slow and steady wins the race...
What am I up to? Just excited about the release of the collaborative anthology titled: Of Mist And Magic. My urban fantasy story is in there.

  5. I do find that when I'm doing highly technical work, my creative side seems to thrive. I think we have to feed that side of ourselves!

    1. Definitely! I don't always like technical work, but my creative side seems to like it.
