Never thought I would say this but exercise is really important for me, as a writer, to relax and keep fit. Because I usually just sit on my butt and not do much when writing, I have been feeling a bit rundown lately and I noticed that when I get in a workout somewhere in the day I write better and somehow feel more focused.
Me…saying I like exercise? What is happening to the world?
And a little tip for people who might also recently have started on a vegetarian diet or have adapted to a new vegetarian lifestyle…Please make sure you are not allergic to soy before spending a lot of money restocking your refrigerator with soy products and only finding out later that you are actually allergic to it. True story…

I know what you mean...not the being allergic to soy part but the me liking exercise part. I began running on a regular basis earlier this year and now I find myself needing a run. It really is a terrible, terrible thing. =)
ReplyDeleteM.J. - Haha! Running is great. I can't run but I walk and do aerobics. Nice to know another blogger suffers from the same dilemma.
ReplyDeleteThere are far, far worse things to like. But it's funny how just a few weeks of exercising regularly and your body starts to enjoy it - almost craves it. Or so I've been told. Me? Mostly Diet Coke and cigarettes - that's how I stay fit. Plus, no soy in cigarettes. (Although I could be wrong. There's a couple hundred chemicals in there - I could see 1 or 2 being soy-based...)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha that must have sucked. Luckily for me, I'm unlikely to even consider vegetarianism, given that I see chicken as salad. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI recently took up jogging. Will see how that works out for me. I also want to exercise more, because I spend a lot of time on my butt. I also dance. Which is awesome for cardio and muscle building.
Mickey - I wish diet coke could work for me too. You lucky, lucky man.
ReplyDeleteMisha - I think all of us South Africans see chicken as a vegetable, but lately I get sick whenever I eat meat so... Yeah, I have to go without. I love dancing too! It is so much more enjoyable than strength training.
You sound so much like me! If I don't work out, I feel like crap the rest of the day. Sitting here all day starts to work against me. LOL Anyway, great post and thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteMelissa - Thank you! Me working out...who would have thought? Thank you for stopping by.
